Jesus said, "Love one another as I have loved you." Because God is love, He wants us to learn how to love as He does.  It is when we love that we are most God-like.  Love cannot be learned in isolation.  We have to be around people.

Scripture tells us that the two greatest commandments are "You must love the Lord your God with all your heart...and your neighbor as yourself."

Relationships are what matters most.  Busyness is a great enemy of relationships.  It is often used as an excuse to avoid becoming involved with persons.  How we have treated others, not wealth or accomplishments, is the best legacy we can leave.  Mother Teresa said, "It is not what you do, but how much love you put into it that matters." Learning to love unselfishly is not an easy task.  That is why we are given a lifetime to do it.

The importance of events or people can be measured by how much time we are willing to give. When we give people our time we are giving them part of our lives.  It is not enough just to say that relationships are important, we must invest time in them.  How much we give of ourselves is a real sign of the love we have for others. Whenever we give time we are making a sacrifice and sacrifice is essential for love.  Jesus said our love for each other is our greatest witness to the world.
