S. June went home to the Lord on December 3rd, 2006.
Sister June was born June 27, 1919, in Fessenden, ND, one of five girls and two boys born to Michael and Anna Koller. June attended grade schools in Hill, MT and Bowdon, ND and high schools in Sykeston, ND, and
Sacred Heart Academy, in Fargo, where she entered the Order of the Presentation Sisters on June 12, 1938. She received the habit of the Sisters in 1939, and the name of
Sister Euphrasia. After Vatican II, she returned to her Baptismal name, Sister June. Sister Mary June made her final Profession of Vows in 1944, and celebrated her Golden Jubilee of Professioni 1991.
Sister June’s works over the years include care of others; dietary work at St. James Academy in New Rockford, care of children and staff at St. Joh’s Orphanage
in Fargo, St. Mary’s Hospital in Langdon, ND and at Carrington Hospital. In all of these years and in all of these places, Sister June was an example of kindness and joyful service, providing good humor and mischief wherever she went.
Sister June possessed artistic talents which she used generously throughout the years. She had a special talent for making up her own patterns in crocheting and
knitting. During her retirement years at Sacred Heart Convent she became proficient in taking care of hard-to-remove spots on sister’s clothing and using
leftover thread for her projects. As she wrote in our newspaper “The Acorn” in the Winter/Spring issue 2000, “Even though I have macular degeneration and cataracts in both eyes, I manage to keep everyone it stitches and spotless.”
May S. June enjoy the peace and joy of God in her eternal life.
