Presentation sisters are called to creative, generous, and reasoned response to human needs. Their ministries are modified according to the needs of those served in a particular time and culture. The Sisters hold in special esteem those works singled out by Honora Nagle and honored by the Church: compassion for the poor and the sick, works of charity and mutual aid intended to relieve human needs. Nevertheless, their principal focus remains that undertaken by the foundress: spiritual formation and education to justice (Constitutions 43, 46, 47).
Sisters serve in a variety of individual ministries such as
RCIA director hospital chaplain,
social worker, nurse,
parish minister massage therapist, housekeeper,
spiritual director, secretary, residence supervisor, food service provider,
foster parent.
Presentation sisters and associates consistently strive to be faithful to their call to service by “doing what needs to be done.” We have responded to new apostolic needs not only through individual ministries but also through evolution of our sponsored ministries.
In collaboration with the YWCA Cass Clay, transitional housing is made available for
women and children in need.
In 1996 the Sisters joined with other congregations of women religious to form a national healthcare system, (
